Barahathan Temple is located at the premises of Barhakune Pond in Ghorahi Municipality, Dang. The pond got its names as it has 12 sides.
The place holds a high religious and touristic significance. A grand fair is organized at the place each year on the first day of Nepali month of Magh also known as Maghe Sankranti. Devotees throng the temple to make offering of animals to please the god.
The place is a major touristic attraction for internal tourists in Dang district. One can also enjoy boating in the pond situated on the lap of the hills. People visit the place regularly to worship at the temple and savor the natural beauties surrounding the temple.
There is a temple of God Ganesh nearby the Barahathan Temple. Devotees offer worship to the God Ganesh at first as according to Hindu mythology, God Ganesh is offered worship before worshipping other Gods and Goddesses.
