A leopard that had barged into a house in Kirtipur on the outskirts of the Capital City on early Wednesday morning has been captured finally after hours of efforts.
According to locals, the leopard had entered human settlements yesterday night and had barged into the house of Shree Krishna Maharjan this morning. A team of police from Metropolitan Police Circle, Kirtipur and officials from District Forest Office and Central Zoo took control over the angry leopard after tranquilizing it after seven hours it has entered the house.
It has been handed over District Forest Office, Kathmandu. The leopard had hidden under the stair after entering the house from a back door. However, no human casualties were reported.
Locals remained in fear after the news of the leopard entering the house spread like a wildfire. A large crowd of people had gathered outside the house to take a glimpse of the wild animal.
Of late, there are frequent incidents of leopards entering human settlements in the Valley in search of easy prey.
